How close should you sleep to an air purifier?

If you get close, you may feel a draft; if you walk away, you may not get the full benefit of breathing filtered air. The best place to place an air purifier is somewhere in the breathing area. The closer the unit is to your head, the shorter the distance clean air must travel before it reaches you. In the bedroom, this usually translates to putting the air purifier on a nightstand or on a bedside table near the bed.

Place the air purifier close enough to you to clean the air around you, but not so close to you that it draws air to you. Air purifiers are beneficial for working during sleep, providing clean air free of harmful compounds such as dust, pollen and VOCs. They can safely run at night in sleep mode when placed at a safe distance from other objects. Sleep mode reduces sound and dims lights to levels acceptable for sleeping.

For example, in the bedroom, you should place an air purifier at a distance of six to ten feet from the head of the bill. The air should not blow directly into your face because it could irritate your sleep. Some people are sensitive to wind and may have a headache in the morning if the air purifier blows directly into their heads. It would be best if the air inlet was facing the bed, so that the air around the bed leaks first.

If you live in a highly polluted area, the air you breathe (even indoors) will get dirty in about an hour if you don't use the air purifier. In addition, the continuous operation of an air cleaner will also make the filters last longer than they should. This human-centered approach to design means that the aesthetic design of Molekule air purifiers was considered, down to the smallest detail, to ultimately maximize air quality benefits. Also, leaving the air purifier on all night, you won't “startle” or “overwhelm” when you run it in the morning, as it slowly cleaned the air from last night until you woke up.

In a higher position, small air purifiers will work better because they don't need to suck in air from below. But if you prefer fresh night air to come through the window at night, your air purifier won't be as effective. If you have more than one device that filters, humidifies, or dehumidifies the air or even the air conditioner, you should consider which one to use. Some air purifiers have filters that need to be changed every few months, while others can last up to a year.

Not all air purifiers are aesthetically pleasing, and it's not easy (or fun) to sacrifice personal style for air quality. Dust, pollen, and other outdoor pollution will rush through the window into the room, and an air purifier will work hard to clean all the polluted air that comes from outside. Placing an air purifier outside the wall is better than against it because air can get in and out more easily than if it's obstructed, buy a wall or curtains or whatever. Humidifier mist can put a layer on the air purifier filters to prevent them from doing their job properly.

Sleeping with an air purifier will help you breathe easier when you fall asleep and wake up to healthier air in the morning. In such a position, an air purifier can draw air from all directions and work with the best performance. Smart Air is a social enterprise that creates simple and sensible air purifiers and provides free education to protect people's health from the effects of air pollution.
